Mews and Nips: What a cat Can instruct us about Cybersecurity

In a recent Op Ed piece in The LA Times, cybersecurity expert Herbert Lin shared how trying to confine his daughter’s cat to a limited area of his home (Lin is allergic) taught him important lessons about why cybersecurity is so hard to obtain. “Everything that I tried to confine Pounce worked for a little while but eventually failed as he found a way past my newest safety and security barrier — just as hackers eventually find their way through the cybersecurity barriers erected to stop them.” check out the LA Times for the full, utterly delightful column.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the conscious cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, I shared several sites that can help you identify whether your cat is in pain, on Tuesday, we featured a customizable cat tree, on Wednesday, I shared a Ruby memory, on Thursday, I featured lovable cat ornaments from KittyCat Art Studio, and on Friday, I evaluated the most recent book in the Dalai Lama’s cat series, Awaken the Kitten Within.

I wonder what the kitty in today’s video was dreaming about? Enjoy!

Have a terrific weekend!

That is an interesting way to look at cyber security.
